“Kebanyakan Honda GL dijadikan Jap-Style atau drag, kita ingin yang berbeda, ini pun sebagai proyek contoh buat bengkel kita agar orang bisa melirik,” ujar sang pemilik bengkel, Bias Remadyo, ketika berbincang dengan detikOto, Rabu (17/3/2010).

Pertama tentunya yang paling mencolok adalah pengaplikasian ban belakang gambot berukuran 195/65-15, dengan pelk buatan luckylook custom sendiri berukuran 15 inci, yang dipadukan dengan spakbor galvanis plat yang juga buatan sendiri.

Agar ban gambot tersebut bisa terpasang, Bias pun harus membuat swing-arm terlebih dahulu yang disesuaikan dengan dimensi ban. Tidak ada pergeseran mesin, hanya gear depan saja yang harus digeser lebih maju.

Selanjutnya, harmonisasi agar motor terlihat porposional, meskipun sudah tampil rebah dengan ground clearance 135 mm. Sehingga si Gembul ini bisa tetap nyaman untuk dipakai harian, baik handling maupun tampilannya.

“Kita memang merancang agar bisa nyaman dan aman dipakai harian, jadi semua aspek yang dibutuhkan di jalan raya tetap kita aplikasikan,” ujarnya.

Karena tujuannya memang sebagai model contoh atau ‘kanvas berjalan’, maka Bias membiarkan mesinnya tetap standar, karena dirinya merasa tidak perlu motor yang kencang.

“Namanya ‘Kanvas Berjalan’ ya buat apa kencang, nanti malah tidak bisa dilihat orang, kan percuma,” belanya, yang juga mengatakan, meski mesin standar, motor ini masih sanggup berlari hingga 100 km per jam.

Sehingga, GL 100 1979 ini menjadi sebuah motor yang berhasil memadukan dua nuansa sekaligus, yakni klasik dan modern, dengan percampuran garis dan sudut yang menyiratkan keselarasan bentuk.

Penjualan Honda PCX pada bulan lalu tercatat 447 unit sedangkan Scoopy 13.056 unit. Honda BeAT masih menjadi motor skutik Honda terlaris dengan angka penjualan 66.598 unit atau tumbuh 98 persen dibandingkan dengan Juli tahun sebelumnya. Sementara Honda Vario CW dan Vario Techno masing-masing terjual sebanyak 49.751 unit dan 25.876 unit.

“Kami juga cukup terkejut, ternyata sambutan untuk Honda PCX begitu positif. Tapi memang kami mohon maaf bila konsumen lama menunggu, karena motor ini diimpor langsung jadi pengurusan surat-suratnya cukup lama,” ujar Marketing Director AHM, Julius Aslan.

Menurut rencana, motor yang kemarin diperkenalkan oleh Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) akan resmi dijual ke publik pada Desember 2011 mendatang.

Nah karena motor ini memang memiliki habitat dilintasan balap, maka tidak heran bila Honda merancangnya dengan tubuh yang ringan tapi memiliki tenaga yang cukup besar.

Di dapur pacunya terselip sebuah mesin liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, single cylinder, DOHC yang memiliki kapasitas 249 cc.

"Konsep NSF250R menggambarkan kepentingan kami untuk melangkah ke depan, untuk menciptakan standar baru di dunia balap. Karakter utama motor ini adalah tubuh yang ringan dan mesin yang kompak dengan tenaga besar dan efisiensi yang tinggi yang bisa digunakan dijalan atau di balapan," ungkap NSF250R Development Project Leader Yoshiyuki Kurayoshi dkutip DetikOto dari autoevolution, Senin (6/6/2011).

"Ini adalah motor yang kompak dengan berat hanya 84 kilo dan memiliki tenaga maksimum hingga 35,5 kW, 13.000 rpm dan kapasitas bensin sampai 11 liter," tambahnya.

Di Spanyol, motor ini kabarnya akan dilepas dengan harga sekitar 23.600 euro atau sekitar Rp 291 jutaan.

As the conventional FI system (electronic fuel injection system) applied to motorcycles is bulky and costly, its application has been mostly in large motorcycles using multi-cylinder engines. 

In the newly developed PGM-FI, in order to apply to small displacement models, the obstacles have been eliminated by fully using Honda\’s techniques to down-size components as well as making maximum use of the FI techniques attained from the large motorcycles. The compact PGM-FI offers new benefits such as the reduction of released environmentally detrimental substances and the improvement of driveablity, economy, etc.
